The Asus Zenfone 3 Laser had received the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update in April this year, and after two months the Android 7.1.1 Nougat is rolling out. Asus on its ZenTalk Forum, states that since this is a Firmware Over-The-Air update, it will take at least a week for the update to reach the users. For those who do not receive the update prompt, can do so by going to Settings > About > System Update, and update manually. The update version is V126.96.36.199 but Asus hasn t detailed the changes that will arrive on the smartphone.
As for the Zenfone 3 Zoom users, it will be the first upgrade to Android Nougat itself, but users will receive the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update instead. This is also an FOTA update, so it will take around a week for the update to roll out completely. Zenfone 3 Zoom users can follow the aforementioned steps if they do not receive the update prompt. The release note on the forum states that the update will bring upgrade to Android N, support for Portrait Mode, bug fixes, improvements to performance and picture taking experience.
