Asus has accidentally listed the upcoming Max series phone, the Asus ZenFone 4 Max with the model number ZC554KL on the support pages of its official website. The listing was soon taken off, though not before it was spotted, thus confirming the presence of the next smartphone in the Asus ZenFone Max series line-up. The listing did not reveal much about the specifications or the design of the device. Considering the ZenFone Max series models have been budget devices with average specifications, there isn’t much change expected with Asus ZenFone 4 Max, with the phone’s focus on battery life, typical to the Max range. The phone will be 4G compatible and is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with either the Qualcomm Snadragon 625 or Snapdragon 660 chipset. Recently, we saw a new Asus device crop up on GFXBench with the nickname, ASUS X00ID. The phone comes with specifications similar to the Asus ZenFone 4 Max and while some have suggested that the two devices might be the same, the fact that they bear different model numbers cannot be ignored. Asus X00ID will feature a 5.5-inch HD (720p) display with a Snapdragon octa-core processor. Both the Asus ZenFone 4 Max ZC554KL and Asus X00ID might be in a similar price range.
This is the first time the ZenFone 4 Max has been spotted and with the listing, leaks surrounding specifications are expected to soon start doing the rounds. Asus is expected to announce the Asus ZenFone 4 series devices later in May. The phones will most likely be unveiled at Computex 2017, scheduled to kick-off on May 30 in Taipei. The Asus ZenFone 4 Max is expected to be one of the more affordable phones in the lineup. The Asus ZenFone 4 Ultra and Asus ZenFone 4 Zoom are also expected to be announced in the lineup.
The phone will most likely be up for sale initially in China and slowly rolled out to other markets such as India. It will compete with the Lenovo K6 Power which is a battery-centric device, promising two days of battery life on a single charge. Taking a quick look at the Lenovo K6 Power’s specifications, the phone runs Android Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box, and comes with a 5-inch full-HD screen and Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. The phone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. ALSO READ: Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom to launch as Asus Zenfone Zoom S in select markets: Report
The rear camera is a 13-megapixel snapper, while the front has a 5-megapixel camera. Below the rear camera setup is the fingerprint sensor, and the Lenovo K6 Power has a 4000mAh battery. Though the phone is a relatively older device, launched towards the end of 2016, there are no real battery-intensive competitor devices in the market presently at that price.
