Asus may be all geared up for its October 17 event, where it s expected to launch two new smartphones, but the Taiwanese technology major hasn t forgotten about its old smartphones. The company has begun rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update to Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL), which it launched last year. The update also introduces ZenUI 5.0, the latest version of Asus custom UI overlay. Asus made the announcement via an official announcement on its ZenTalk forums. It’s worth mentioning that the smartphone originally launched with Android Nougat and ZenUI 4.0 on-board. Asus Zenfone 4 Max is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 430 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There s also a dedicated expansion slot that can take up microSD cards of up to 256GB. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels resolution.
For imaging duties, Zenfone 4 Max has a dual-camera system at the back, comprised of two 13-megapixel sensors. There s also an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfies and video calls. Having all standard connectivity options, Asus Zenfone 4 Max owes its name to a massive 5,000mAh power-pack.
