Perhaps the biggest (and most obvious) advantage of getting an Android One-certified device is the vanilla software experience, which also means that you get updates faster. Unfortunately, that s not the case with smartphones running custom UI overlays atop Android, with things being even worse for entry-level and mid-range smartphones. Therefore, it s always good to see old smartphones getting updates, the case in point being Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie. An official announcement on Asus forums mentions that two versions of Zenfone 4 Selfie ZD553KL and ZB553KL are getting the update, which bears software version 15.0400.1809.405. The rollout is a phased one, so as always, it ll take a while before it reaches all smartphones available out there.
Talking about the smartphone, the Zenfone 4 Selfie is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There s also a dedicated expansion slot that can take up microSD cards of up to 256GB.
