Asus has started rolling out another firmware update for the recently launched Asus Zenfone 5Z with some new additions and significant updates to its camera. Other than the general improvement in Wi-Fi stability and bug fixing, Asus Zenfone 5Z now enables camera with RAW file support alongside the Panorama feature and an on/off button for electronic image stabilization (EIS).
The Asus Zenfone 5Z FOTA update also enables flash feature in Pro mode as well. Even the filters will now work in real-time, so that you can select a filter before clicking.
Coming to the camera improvements, the Zenfone 5Z will now have an improved HDR functionality, camera stability, better photo sharpness, auto exposure and auto focus after this update. For the video, the update changelog notes it to have the improved slow motion quality and file size (720p). It also boost audio quality in video to 192kbps bitrate.
The previous OTA update was pushed by Asus within a week of Zenfone 5Z launch. The update had included the June Security patch and a number of camera improvements. It was about 56MB in size, and brought improvements to camera performance, notification LED, NFC, and secure album. Asus also promised enhanced video call quality, better focus speed during video recording, improved power management and fixes screen flicker issue while starting and stopping the video recording.

Asus launched the flagship Zenfone 5Z smartphone in India as a Flipkart exclusive in first week of July. The base variant with 64GB storage starts at Rs 29,999, whereas the top-end variant will set you back by Rs 36,999. Asus and Flipkart have also partnered ICICI Bank to offer Rs 3,000 discount when you buy the Zenfone 5Z, which brings down the effective price to Rs 26,999 for the base variant.
