Asus ZenFone Live L1, the first Android Go smartphone from the Taiwanese tech company, was officially announced earlier this month. At the event, Asus announced specifications and features of the smartphone and that Indonesia will be the first market to get the smartphone. Well, the Asus ZenFone Live L1 has gone on sale in the Southeast Asian country for IDR 1,399,000, which translates to around Rs 6,750. Asus is, in fact, discounting the smartphone further to IDR 1,299,000 (around Rs 6,250) for the flash sale being held on Indonesia e-commerce portal of Jingdong. The pricing, will of course, vary depending on the market but the pricing for the smartphone in Indonesia gives a reasonable indicator to how Asus will price the global in other markets. Alongside the pricing of ZenFone Live L1, Asus also announced the pricing for ZenFone 5. The ZenFone 5 is priced at IDR 4,299,000 (around Rs 20,700) in Indonesia. It is available at further discounted price of 3,999,000 (around Rs 19,250) for those participating in the flash sale on Jingdong. The ZenFone 5 was first announced at Mobile World Congress 2018 in February.
Asus ZenFone Live L1 Specifications
Asus ZenFone Live L1 is an entry-level smartphone that does not compromise on the design front. Despite its budget price tag, the smartphone sports a modern design with considerably thinner bezels around the display and support for taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels.
Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes in two storage models – 1GB RAM variant with 16GB storage and a 2GB RAM variant with 32GB storage. It features a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash.

In terms of connectivity, the ZenFone Live L1 is equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. It skips out on fingerprint sensor to cut on cost and it runs Android 8.0 Oreo based on Go edition. Android Oreo (Go edition) is a customized version of Android Oreo aimed at mid-range and entry-level smartphones. It comes with Go-branded applications that consume less onboard memory and uses less data as well. The ZenFone Live L1 packs a 3,000mAh battery and will be available in space blue, rose pink, gold and midnight black colors.
Asus had recently launched the ZenFone Max Pro M1 in exclusive partnership with Flipkart at a starting price of Rs 10,999. The smartphone has received good traction among online smartphone buyers and Asus might bring the ZenFone Live L1 to India next to capitalize on the momentum.
