The first product following the strategic partnership between Asus and Flipkart, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 launched today in India. It is a battery-centric smartphone featuring a mammoth 5,000mAh battery. It is also the first Asus smartphone to run stock Android. Prices of the smartphone start at Rs 10,999 for the base model. Xiaomi Mi 6X leak
The retail box of the Xiaomi Mi 6X surfaced today confirming more details about the upcoming smartphone. Based on that, the Mi 6X will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and possibly ditch the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. It is expected to be a mid-range smartphone, available in three variants with up to 6GB of RAM. Separately, the company has confirmed that it will arrive with an AI-based smart assistant. It is likely to be the Xiao Ai assistant which made its debut on the Mi MIX 2S.
OnePlus 6 glass back confirmed
Revealing one more detail about the OnePlus 6, the company CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the anticipated flagship smartphone will be featuring a glass back design when it launches in the next month. The smartphone is already confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and feature up to 8GB of RAM. It is also confirmed to feature the iPhone X-like. Well, the only element that perhaps remains to know is the pricing and availability of the smartphone in India.
Google has acknowledged that there has been spam activity through its Gmail service where the sender s email address is same as that of the recipient. The official thread of the Gmail help forum has several dozen reports of such an issue. The emails arriving in inboxes essentially appear as if they are being sent by you. The sender in the inbox is marked as Me , and includes profile icon of the Gmail users on mobile. Google said that this spam campaign involves used of ‘forged email headers’. So far, there has not been any report of accounts being compromised as part of this campaign.
3D facial recognition on Android phones
Debuted on the iPhone X, the 3D facial recognition mechanism is expected to be implemented on Android devices not before the Q3, 2018. According to a report by Digitimes Research, although 3D sensing modules are jointly developed by Qualcomm, Himax Technologies and Truly Opto-electronics, which is regarded as the most mature 3D sensing solution in the market, there is a limitation for the industry at large. Currently, these features can run only on Qualcomm s Snapdragon 845 platform.
Walmart-Flipkart deal drawing to a close
The long-running deal between Flipkart and Walmart is said to be nearing. According to latest reports, the deal has been finalized and is worth $12 billion. As part of the deal, Walmart will acquire a majority and controlling stake in Flipkart.

Micromax’s EV plans
After building ‘Make in India’ phones, Indian manufacturer Micromax is reportedly exploring alternative product lines considering how competitive the smartphone industry has become.
