Asus has started shipping new firmware update for the Zenfone Max Pro M1 devices in India. The FOTA update for 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants of Zenfone Max Pro M1 brings Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) feature for the primary dual-rear camera setup along with few other improvements.
The system update for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with build number 15.2016.1810.337, and is about 82.74MB in size. Apart from EIS feature, the software update also brings support for Live Wallpapers and improves upon ringtone issue on answering calls via Bluetooth. The changelog by Asus reveals fixes for the FM Radio issue, and Wi-Fi compatibility issue with Asus AC51U router.
Asus is gradually rolling out FOTA update for 3GB, 4GB RAM variants of Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India, so it might take a couple of weeks to reach everyone, reports TelecomTalk.
To recall, Asus already rolled out EIS feature to the 6GB RAM variant of Zenfone Max Pro M1. The update was rolled out by the company last month. Apart from enabling EIS on the 6GB RAM variant, the FOTA update also brought system stability and September security patch.
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the only device to run near stock Android version, and the company has promised to release Android 9 Pie update by the end of this year.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1: Specifications and Price
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 sports a 5.99-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels, and taller 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, the same chipset also found on Redmi Note 5 Pro and comes in three storage variants – a 32GB storage variant with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

All the three models feature dual rear camera setup but the configuration varies according to variants. The 3GB and 4GB RAM variants feature a combination of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual cameras at the back and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter at the front. The 6GB RAM variant gets an updated dual camera module with 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
