Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, the successor to Zenfone Max Pro M1, is set to launch on December 11. The launch details were first confirmed by the Indonesian arm of Asus but the company recently confirmed that the device will launch on the same day in India as well. We already know that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be exclusive to Flipkart and now, the e-commerce partner of Asus has made a landing page for the smartphone live, which reveals more details about the smartphone including battery life, performance and camera. We already know that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be the first smartphone in its class to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 6, and the new teaser page from Flipkart reiterates the use of strongest glass from Corning. There is also mention of “unmatched performance” on the Zenfone Max Pro M2 with the use of “fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon [mobile platform] in the segment.” This points to the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 670 SoC. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 was launched with Snapdragon 636 early this year and the only way that Asus can improve on performance is by switching to more powerful Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 670 mobile platforms. The leaks so far point at Qualcom Snapdragon 660 chipset powering the Zenfone Max Pro M2.
With a Snapdragon 660 SoC, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will rival the Realme 2 Pro, the cheapest smartphone with that chipset priced at Rs 13,990. While Zenfone Max Pro M2 is getting a performance bump with more powerful processor, it does not necessarily mean compromise on battery life. The teaser claims it will have the “largest capacity battery in the lightest form factor”. Asus claims the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will last for 2+ days on a single charge.

This could mean that the smartphone packs the same 5,000mAh battery as its predecessor. There is also mention of the smartphone coming with a “best-in class Sony sensor” in the segment, and Asus claims it will offer unrivaled performance in areas like bokeh and low-light photography. The leaks and Asus’ own teaser paints a picture of Zenfone Max Pro M2 launching with Snapdragon 660 coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, dual rear camera setup and large battery.
