Asus launched its first smartwatch called the ZenWatch earlier this year ahead of IFA in Berlin. Today, the company showcased the Android Wear smartwatch at an event in Delhi, and according to IBNLive, will launch it in the country in the first quarter of next year. In a chat with the publication, Asus’ Peter Chang said that the company plans on launching the ZenWatch in India in the first quarter of next year, and it will be priced below Rs 20,000. At this price point, it will be up against the likes of the LG G Watch, Samsung Gear Live, and the Motorola Moto 360 among others.
As far as design is concerned, the ZenWatch has a rectangular shape, accompanied by a leather belt that gives the smartwatch a rich and elegant feel. There are more than 100 different watch faces to choose from, including a range of digital faces and those which imitate the hands of a mechanical watch.
As far as specifications are concerned, the ZenWatch sports a 1.63-inch AMOLED display with 320 320 pixel resolution, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 512MB RAM. Also included is 4GB internal storage, and as far as connectivity is concerned, it supports Bluetooth 4.0.
The smartwatch is waterproof with IP55 rating and has a bio sensor which can measure your heart rate. On the software front, the smartwatch runs on Google s Android Wear and has a customized interface called Zen UI.
