Touted to launch alongside the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the new Pixelbook has started getting a lot of traction online with rumors. The most recent one had suggested not one but two Pixelbooks to launch this year, which have essentially been code-named as Atlas and Nocturne. While these devices were originally stated to be Chromebooks, a new report from ChromeUnboxed further reveals more evidence of the Atlas being an updated version of the original Pixelbook.

According to the report, the device code-named as Atlas has been discovered to come equipped with a NT6CL256T32CM-H1 memory, which the website claims is an 8GB LPDDR3 RAM module. While this seems pretty high for a Chromebook, it fits perfectly well with the base variant of the Pixelbook, which also features 8GB of RAM. This hints at the Atlas being a clear contender to be Google’s next new flagship laptop.

Besides that, previous reports on Atlas have also drawn heads towards its similarities to the Pixelbook. One of the biggest clues is that Atlas is said to carry a dedicated Google Assistant button on its keyboard, which is a button that is currently available only on the Pixelbook. It was also recently discovered that the Atlas will coming with a Kaby Lake CPU and no SD card slot.

While all of that hints towards Atlas being the new Pixelbook, ChromeUnboxed, suggests that Google will further be expanding the series with a range of variants that will include detachable and tablet-styled devices. Commits have also revealed the Nocturne to carry a detachable keyboard. Google has managed to keep its new laptop under the wraps, but we expect more rumors to surface as we get closer to its suggested launch date.
