These in-ear monitors are targeted at sound professionals and musicians for use in recording studios, live performances and in DJ booths. The E-series headphones are also compatible with Audio Technica’s popular M2 and M3 wireless monitor systems, and are priced at Rs 7,999 for the E40, Rs 15,490 for the E50 and Rs 29,999 for the E70. The Audio Technica ATH-E70 is the flagship product in the range, and features three balanced armature drivers for accurate reproduction of the entire frequency range. The ATH-E50 comes with single balanced armature drivers, while the ATH-E40 has dual phase push-pull drivers. All three headphones feature flexible memory cables which loop over the listener’s ears for a comfortable and secure fit, and come with specially designed housings which are meant to improve noise isolation. All of the headphones have detachable cables, and the two lower-priced variants also come with a carry case and replacement silicone ear tips. While the ATH-E70 and ATH-E50 are more suited to music professionals, the E40 is suitable for both professionals as well as audio enthusiasts thanks to its lower price and driver technology which will suit typical amateur listening preferences. The E-series will be available from December through Audio Technica’s distribution range in India, both online and offline. The E-series will compete with the popular Shure in-ear professional monitor series, including the Shure SE215, SE425 and SE535 headphones, which compete directly on price with the E40, E50 and E70 respectively.
