While there are multiple brands that are trying to offer premium features in this category, there are some who clearly offer a better value for money proposition. Here is a list of 5 smartphones that are worth considering for a budget under Rs 7,000.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A

Xiaomi has always been one of the most preferred brand in this segment. One of its best-selling smartphones is the Redmi 5A. The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC. For photography, the device is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter at the front. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and Android Nougat based MIUI 9 OS. The Redmi 5A is available in two variants. The base model with 16GB storage and 2GB RAM is priced at Rs 5,999, while the top model with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM is priced at Rs 6,999.

The 10.or E was launched in India last year. With a starting price of Rs 5,699. One of the key highlights of the budget smartphone is its big 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone comes equipped with Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC and 5.5-inch full HD display. While the base variant comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, there also is a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant available for a price of Rs 6,699. The phone features 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors at the back and the front respectively. It runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box, and is currently available on Amazon India for purchase.

Moto C Plus

Launched almost a year ago, the Moto C Plus still holds the mantle as one of the interesting smartphones under Rs 7,000. The smartphone features a sturdy design which is available in Pearl White, Starry Black and Fine Gold colors. However, one of its key highlights is the close to stock Android experience it has to offer with its Android Nougat operating system. Besides that, the phone also comes loaded with MediaTek MT6737 SoC with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone features an 8-megapixel rear camera and is backed by a removal 4,000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy On5

Samsung introduced the Galaxy On budget series to compete better with the likes of the Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo and other brands in the online space. The Galaxy On5 is the base model from that category, which is currently priced at Rs 6,990 on Amazon India. The smartphone comes with a decent set of hardware including a 5.0-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display and a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos chipset.  It carries 1.5GB of RAM and has a storage space of 8GB. The smartphone also features a sturdy build which is available in Black and Gold colors.

Micromax Bharat 5 Pro

Micromax Bharat 5 Pro features a 5.2-inch HD IPS display, which is backed by a 5,000mAh battery. The company claims it to support a battery backup of 21 days. It is offered with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage along with support for additional storage up to 64GB via microSD card. It runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek SoC. The smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, which also carries support for Face Unlock. The smartphone is currently available for Rs 6,990 through online channels.
