A bunch of interesting smartphones were launched recently, and if you are looking forward to buying one in the sub-Rs 10,000, here are some options. Right from the Nokia 2.1 and Xiaomi Redmi 6A, there are quite a few options to choose from. Let’s take a look at these smartphones, their prices in India, features and more.
HMD Global launched the Nokia 2.1 in India with a price tag of Rs 6,999. Running on Android Oreo (Go Edition), the smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC, paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage and a massive 4,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A
Last month, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A in India, a successor to last year’s Redmi 5A. Aimed at first time buyers, the smartphone is priced at Rs 5,999 for 2GB RAM with 16GB storage model, and Rs 6,999 for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage mode.
Talking about upgrades, the new smartphone brings a tall 18:9 display, and a new MediaTek Helio A11 quad-core SoC. The smartphone also comes with a 13-megapixel rear snapper, a 5-megapixel selfie module and a 3,000mAh battery. You can buy it from Mi.com and Amazon India.
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched the Redmi 6A competitor, the Honor 7S. The smartphone is available to purchase via Flipkart. Powered by a MediaTek MT6739 SoC, it comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage.
It has a 5.45-inch HD+ display of 720×1440 pixels resolution, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, skinned with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 overlay. With a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper, the smartphone also comes with a 3,020mAh battery. If you are unable to pick up the Redmi 6A during the flash sales, this could be a good option to go for.
At the Realme 2 Pro launch event, the company surprised everyone with yet another product called Realme C1, which will be available via Flipkart. A competitor to the Redmi 6A and Honor 7s, the smartphone comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC. It is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
One of the highlights of the smartphone include the dual camera setup at the back, which includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor supplemented with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front is a 5-megapixel sensor which also supports face unlock feature. With Android 8.1 Oreo OS, the smartphone also includes a 4,230mAh battery.
Lastly, there is Vivo Y71i, which is priced at Rs 8,990, and comes with a full screen display. It is equipped with a 5.99-inch HD+ display with (1440×720 pixels) resolution, and 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450octa-core chipset, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.
