OnePlus 5T leak
Rumors have been doing the round lately regarding OnePlus launching a variant of the OnePlus 5, just like it launched the OnePlus 3T around the same time in 2016. Today, the leak showed images, which is a clear hint that the launch of the OnePlus 5T is near. The leaked images show that the OnePlus 5T will come with a 6-inch display featuring 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is likely to have a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels. Another image showed the speaker grille placed at the bottom of the device. In terms of other specifications, the OnePlus 5T is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The smartphone is also expected to sport the same dual-camera system that is seen on the OnePlus 5.
Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra launched
After launching an affordable 4G VoLTE smartphone with BSNL last week, Micromax today launched yet another affordable smartphone in partnership with Vodafone. Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra comes with a price tag of Rs 2,899, but effectively the price comes down to just Rs 999. One only needs to recharge at least Rs 150 every month for a duration of 36 months. The recharges can be done in parts, but the total sum should amount to Rs 150 every month.
Coming to the specifications, the Bharat-2 Ultra features a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832 processor paired with 512MB RAM. The phone sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. Armed with a 1,300mAh battery, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Increase minimum internet speeds
The government has started working towards boosting of minimum-mandated internet speed to 2 mbps and more from the existing 512 kbps. This will also contribute as a part of Narendra Modi launched initiatives such as smart cities, Digital India programs. The telecom secretary said that the country needs faster speed in the wake of the gradual transformation of the country to a digital economy. TRAI has also been pushing for the increase in the minimum-internet speed as several telecom companies are rolling out faster 4G services. This is not the first time the internet speed in India has been taken into consideration. TRAI had pointed out the weaker internet connection in its ‘Consultation Paper on Data Speed Under Wireless Broadband Plans’ released in June this year.

Mobile subscriber base in India in September
As per the data, telecom service providers have a total of 946.66 million subscribers. The data also includes the figures of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd and MTNL by the end of August 2017. Among individual companies, Bharti Airtel continues to lead with 29.80 percent market share by adding another 1 million subscribers in the month of September to take the grand total to 282.04 million. Second on the list is Vodafone India, which stands at 207.44 million, followed by Idea Cellular at 190.15 million subscribers at the end of September. The data also revealed that Uttar Pradesh accounted for the highest number of subscribers at 83.46 million subscribers, while Maharashtra occupied the second spot with 79.2 million subscribers.
