Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea Ltd and BSNL are constantly trying to upend each other and stay more competitive against Reliance Jio in India’s extremely competitive smartphone market. Every week, we see these telecom players come up with new plans, aimed to offer better data and calling benefits than rivals. If you are looking at a plan that offers 1GB data per day then this new plan from Airtel is worth looking at.

Bharti Airtel recently introduced a Rs 159 plan that challenges Rs 149 plan from Reliance Jio and Rs 159 plan from Vodafone. The new plan is aimed to offer three key benefits to users: calling, data and SMS. With Rs 159 tariff plan, Bharti Airtel is offering unlimited voice calls and 100 free local and national SMS daily. The plan has a validity of 21 days and comes with 1GB 3G/4G data per day.

While the plan is meant to offer 1GB daily data to its subscribers there is a catch. Only Airtel subscribers who have a primary connection are eligible for 1GB daily data while all other customers will get 1GB data for the entire validity period.

In comparison, Vodafone offers its Rs 159 tariff plan as an open market offer. The plan comes with 1GB daily data on 3G or 4G network, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS daily. The plan also has longer validity of 28 days, a week longer than the 21 days validity offered by Airtel.

Reliance Jio, on the other hand, offers better plan than both the rivals. With recharge of Rs 149, Reliance Jio users get 1.5GB daily data on company’s 4G only network. The plan comes with unlimited voice calls, 100 free SMS per day and validity of 28 days. Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone offer subscription to their own video streaming and live TV apps.
