It’s not even been a week since PM Narendra Modi launched the rebranded UPI app, called BHIM and it has gained a lot of traction from the public. Though it has faced some issues since launch, the government has announced that it has crossed two million downloads.
Announcing the same, Niti Aayog’s CEO, Amitabh Kant’s tweeted; “#Bhim app has d simplest, easiest user interface amongst all Paymentproducts globally! Two million downloads already! Soon on iOS !”

Lauding the success, and interactions the app has received over the past few days, Amitabh Kant has also announced that the BHIM app will soon be available on iOS platform as well. Currently the app is only available to download via Google Play Store on Android smartphones.
Talking about the app, BHIM stands for Bharat Interface for Money, the app is developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The app comes with a simple interface and weighs about 2MB. Recently, people have been facing problems with the login and authentication problem. However, the concerned authorities had flagged the issue and had said that the matter will be solved as soon as possible with new updates.
