BitTorrent Now is the extension of the company s BitTorrent bundles, which was launched in 2013. Thom Yorke of Radiohead had collaborated with BitTorrent bundles and released his solo album Tomorrow s Modern Boxes which made it the first paid-for content via BitTorrent bundles. The app offers content which are free, paid and also ad-supported. The app has three tabs recommended, trending and following. There is also a dedicated search bar to search for any specific topic and a list of categories and genres to choose from. There is the option to follow creators as well and you can be notified as to when they release new content and watch it according to your convenience.
BitTorrent Now will compete with SoundCloud, which is already a popular platform among the independent artists. YouTube and Facebook have also become huge platforms for brands and independent artists. BitTorrent Now is dedicated to promote undiscovered artists and hence, it could turn out to be a great space for artists to get their creations out. Moreover, this seems like the platform where people who are truly interested in discovering rare talent would join and take part in.
