BlackBerry has launched two new smartphones in India – the Evolve and Evolve X. The Evolve and BlackBerry Evolve X are made by Optiemus Infracom, the company with license to sell BlackBerry-branded smartphones in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X arrive right on the heels of BlackBerry Key2, which was launched at Rs 42,990 last month. The Evolve and Evolve X differ from Key2 in one key area, they offer full-touch display as opposed to QWERTY keyboard interface on the Key2. They also offer a different design with slightly rounded edges as seen on the Evolve and boxy appearance on the Evolve X. While these two devices were initially rumored to be premium offering, the specifications reveal that these devices are aimed at mid-range segment. Optiemus says both BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are made in India and will be available exclusively in the country. The smartphones can basically be seen as the successors to company’s DTEK series that offered mid-range specifications previously. BlackBerry Evolve Specifications and Price
BlackBerry Evolve is the entry-level variant of the two models being launched in India today. It features a 5.99-inch display with Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is being powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The smartphone features aluminum unibody design and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
On the camera front, BlackBerry has equipped the Evolve with combination of 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel dual rear camera and support for 2x optical zoom. The smartphone features a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and front flash. The smartphone runs Android Oreo with a suite of BlackBerry security applications including BlackBerry launcher that now offers both light and dark theme. BlackBerry Evolve is priced at Rs 24,990 and will be available by the end of this month from Amazon India.
BlackBerry Evolve X Specifications and Price
BlackBerry Evolve X differs from standard Evolve in terms of chipset, camera configuration and memory capacity. The Evolve X also sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU, the same chipset also found under the hood of BlackBerry Key2. The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
On the camera front, BlackBerry Evolve X offers dual 13-megapixel rear cameras with 2x optical zoom, 6 element lens and wider f/1.8 aperture. It retains the same 16-megapixel selfie shooter from the Evolve along with front LED flash. The Evolve X will go on sale during mid-September from Amazon India. It is priced at Rs 34,990, which might sound like an expensive proposition.

BlackBerry Evolve, Evolve X Offers
At the launch of Evolve, Evolve X in India, Optiemus Infracom announced that these smartphones will be available exclusively on Amazon India. It confirmed that Evolve, which will be available by the end of this month, will gets offers like no cost EMI option and 5 percent cashback. There will also be carrier benefits and additional data from Reliance Jio.
