BlackBerry is all set to launch its latest smartphone, the KEY2, at an event in New York today. The KEY2 is the successor of the KEYOne smartphone, which was launched in August last year. The weeks leading up to this launch has seen many leaks about the KEY2 smartphone, and there is no aspect of the phone remaining that has not been discussed or conjectured about yet. Among the leaks from various sources, the most prominent one came a couple of days back when serial tipster Evan Blass tweeted images of the device from his own account. Going by the reputation Blass has built up for himself, it is safe to assume that the images and specifications that he tweeted were accurate. The images Evan Blass tweeted match what we have seen in the teaser released by BlackBerry about the KEY2. BlackBerry KEY2 will be released in two color options, according to the leaks that we have seen, one in silver highlights and the other in full black getup.

BlackBerry KEY2 leaked specifications, features

According to the leaks that we have seen up until now, the BlackBerry KEY2 will flaunt a 4.5-inch (1620 1080 pixels) display with 3:2 aspect ratio. The display is placed above a physical QWERTY keyboard. Just like last year s KEYone, the fingerprint sensor is again placed in the spacebar.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. There will be a choice between 64GB and 128GB internal storage options, both of which can be expanded using a microSD card.

For photography, there will be a dual-camera setup at the back. This setup will include a primary 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and a secondary 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.6 aperture. For selfies, there will be an 8-megapixel snapper. The rest of the features include a 3,500mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo right out-of-the-box.

The BlackBerry KEYOne was priced at Rs 39,990 when it was first listed in India, and we expect the price of the KEY2 to be close to that.
