BlackBerry KEY2 LE, the cheaper version of company’s premium KEY2 smartphone, will go on sale today for the first time. The smartphone was first showcased at IFA 2018 in late August, and was then launched in India early this week. The smartphone is aimed at those looking for a business-centric Android device, but do not plan to spend upwards of Rs 40,000.
BlackBerry KEY2 LE Price and Sale Details
The KEY2 LE in India is made and distributed by Optiemus Infracom Limited, a BlackBerry brand licensee. The smartphone will be available exclusively from Amazon India, and the e-commerce company had already begun registering interests for the device after launch. The KEY2 LE is priced at Rs 29,990, which makes it much cheaper than the Rs 42,990 retail price of the KEY2.

BlackBerry KEY2 LE Specifications
The KEY2 LE, as the name suggests, is a limited edition model of the KEY2 but is also cheaper than the standard model. After seeing strong response for KEY2, BlackBerry was quick to realize that price remained a deterrent for a lot of potential customers, and the KEY2 LE offers nearly identical experience at a much cheaper price.
The KEY2 LE, like the KEY2, features a 4.5-inch LCD display with a Full HD resolution of 1620×1080 pixels, and 3:2 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, which is a modern CPU with four Kryo 260 Gold cores and four Kryo 260 silver cores for performance and efficiency. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via SD card slot.

There is a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear camera setup with LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. The KEY2 LE runs Android 8.1 Oreo with BlackBerry’s own suite of applications and security suite called DTEK baked into the software. It also has a QWERTY keyboard below the display with fingerprint sensor integrated into the spacebar key.
In terms of difference, the KEY2 has better professor than KEY2 LE, and it also supports gesture interface on the keyboard. It supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, 4G LTE, and uses USB Type-C port for charging. There is a 3,000mAh battery and it will be available in black color.
