BlackBerry is expected to unveil the Z3 (codenamed Jakarta), its first Foxconn-built smartphone, at the Mobile World Congress next week. Over the weekend a few specs of this forthcoming device surfaced online, which will come sans a physical keyboard. Now, a detailed list of specifications has surfaced online courtesy of BBin, along with the first press render of the device thanks to N4BB.
According to the report, the Z3 will sport a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) LCD display and will feature a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It will also include a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 5x digital zoom and a 1.1-megapixel front camera with fixed focus and 3x digital zoom. Lastly, BlackBerry is also said to be including a 2,650mAh battery, which by the sounds of it could survive for more than a day.
The phone in the above images sports a very rectangular-ish design with a patterned back, which also gives the device a kind of premium look. Though there is no word on the pricing, BBin expects the device to be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,000, which is surprisingly affordable.
We will know more when BlackBerry unveils the device next week, so stay tuned.
