Bose has launched its latest product in India, the Noise-Masking Sleep Buds, at a price of Rs 22,900. The high-end accessory is designed like a pair of truly-wireless earphones, but interestingly does not have any connectivity or ability to play sounds apart from the ambient and soothing sounds built into the headset. The Bose Noise-Masking Sleep Buds are meant to aid people who have trouble falling asleep, by playing what Bose calls ‘sleeptracks’. The ear buds come pre-loaded with 10 ‘sleeptracks’ which are designed to mask unpleasant sounds that could disturb the sleep of the user. The pre-loaded tracks are naturally-soothing sounds such as waves on a beach, the rustling of leaves, and more. The two independent buds work with each other using Bluetooth technology, which also helps them to connect to an app on your smartphone which lets you customize the sound or add additional sleeptracks. A total of 16 hours of battery life is claimed, and charging uses the bundled charging case. Also Read - Noise Shots Rush wireless earbuds launched in India: Check price, features
While the product itself sounds interesting, we can’t help but balk at the price of the Bose Noise-Masking Sleep Buds. Considering that the product plays nothing but pre-set soothing sounds, the Rs 22,900 price tag seems far too high. While there is definitely something to be said about design and function, along with the fact that it is a Bose product that commands some brand value, it certainly seems like a very high price for the product.

Nonetheless, high-value buyers might see some utility in the Sleep Buds if they have trouble falling asleep at night. The headset claims to be developed with the sole aim of masking noise with soothing sounds, which will presumably help users fall asleep at night even if they’re in noisy conditions. Still, it’s entirely possible to download and play soothing sounds on a regular pair of headphones as well, which makes this a bit of an oddball product in our opinion.
