Bose has launched a new Bluetooth speaker under its SoundLink series. The SoundLink Micro speaker is a small pocket-sized, very portable Bluetooth speaker priced at $109 which translates to Rs 7,000 approximately. It will be available from September 21 in the US in three color options – Black, Midnight Blue and Bright Orange. Bose is portraying the Bluetooth speaker as an accessory for outdoor activities, especially for adventures like hiking, cycling and trekking. The speaker comes with IPX7 rating which means that it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter for a duration of 30 minutes. In addition to this, the Bose SoundLink Mini is wrapped in silicone to make sure it remains waterproof inside out. Bose also says that the SoundLink Micro is durable enough to endure dents, scratches and cracks as well.
Emphasizing on its size, the Bose SoundLink Micro measures 983x983x384mm, and weighs around 290 grams. The SoundLink Micro can be strapped on to your bikes, backpacks with a tear-resistant strap. Speaking about its features, the SoundLink Micro has voice prompts while connecting via Bluetooth. You can connect two devices to the speaker, and the eight most recently connected devices will be in the list. The SoundLink Micro also has a microphone enabling you to take calls from the speaker. It is also compatible with Siri and Google Assistant and you can access it by pressing and holding the multi-function button on the speaker. Although the battery isn t specified, Bose promises up to 6 hours of music playback on the SoundLink Mini. More connectivity options include the Bose Connect app which offers additional features. On the Bose Connect app, you can seamlessly control the connected devices. The app also allows you to connect two SoundLink Micro speakers for an even louder sound in either Party Mode or Stereo Mode. The Bose Connect app is available on App Store and Play Store.
