Nearly two years after Ubuntu OS was announced, the first smartphone is finally set to go on sale next week. As far as specifications are concerned, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display, and is powered by a Cortex-A7 quad-core chipset running at up to 1.3GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. Also included is 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a dual-SIM card slot.

Canonical s Ubuntu OS boasts gesture-based UI and features a concept called Scopes. This includes visually-rich panels that aggregate and display content like Weather, Music or News.
