BSNL today launched four new mobile devices, including two smartphones— PentaSmart PS501 and PentaSmart PS650, a feature phone called PentaBharat Phone, and a 7-inch tablet called Penta T-Pad WS707C, under its ‘Bharat Phone’ range with Pantel Technologies. The PentaBharat is a dual-SIM, Java enabled phone which comes with a 3-inch display and is priced for Rs 1,799. Talking about the features, it has 64MB of RAM, a 1.3-megapixel rear camera, 64MB of internal storage with external memory support through a microSD card, connectivity options like Bluetooth, and a 1,800mAh battery that delivers up to 8 hours of talktime and 15 days of standby time. The phone supports Internet connectivity and can be used for accessing e-commerce applications as well. For this price, the company is also offering free 1,200 minutes of talk-time on BSNL network.
The PentaSmart PS650 smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch IPS display and runs on a 1.2GHz A7 dual-core chipset with MALI 400MP GPU and 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The phone sports 2-megapixel rear camera with HDR recording, image stabilizer, auto focus and image sensor, and has a VGA front-facing camera.
On the software front, it runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Other features include connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, 3G support and a 2,500mAh battery with up to 100 hours of standby time. The phone is priced for Rs 7,999 which includes free 3GB of 3G data and up to 300 minutes of talk-time.
The PentaSmart PS501, on the other hand, comes with 5-inch IPS display. It is powered by 1.2GHz A7 dual-core chipset coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, and offers microSD card support as well. The phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing camera and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has support for GPS, Bluetooth, and gesture-motion texting, and offers 15GB cloud storage along with pre-loaded Anti-Virus protection. The phone is priced for Rs 6,999, which includes pre-bundled 3GB of BSNL data and 300mins of free talktime.
The company’s PentaT-Pad WS707C is a 7-inch device with support for voice-calling. The tablet has a 1.2GHz A7 dual-core chipset combined with 512 MB RAM and 4GB Internal Storage. The device runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes pre-loaded with apps like Spuul, Flipboard, Facebook, Skype, Daydream, Documents-to-Go, Aldiko e-book reader, and more. It is priced for Rs 6,999 and comes with 3GB of BSNL data and 300 minutes of free talk-time on BSNL network.
