Apart from unlimited voice calling benefits, BSNL s offering includes just 25GB of total data, but no text messages at all. It s clear that the plan is targeted at users who are primarily concerned with voice calls but aren t that big on cellular data usage.
Telecom Talk s report further mentions that the plan is currently only available in Kolkata circle, and will be valid until January 6, 2019. There s no information whether (or if) BSNL s yearly plan will be launched in other telecom circles.

Talking about competition, Reliance Jio recently introduced a new annual plan of its own. Priced at Rs 1,699, it offers unlimited voice calls and 1.5GB/day for an entire year, bringing the total data benefits to 547.5GB. The bundle also includes 100 text messages per day, as well as access to the entire suite of Jio s apps (e.g. JioCinema, JioTV). It s easy to see that Jio s yearly offering is miles ahead in terms of the total benefits, despite being a little more expensive than BSNL s new annual plan.
