State-run telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has just launched two new prepaid plans for its users. These new plans are an attempt from the telecom operator to take on the likes of Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea. According to the information on the internet, the new plans are priced at Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099 and offer a number of benefits including mobile data, voice calls, SMS messages, and PRBT (Personalized Ring Back Tune). The Rs 1,699 plan by BSNL directly competes with a recently announced prepaid plan by Reliance Jio for the same price.
According to a report by Telecomtalk, on paper, BSNL beats Jio be offering more data benefit for the same amount of money. The report also noted that the telecom operator has announced both these plans under its new Diwali Mahadhamaka scheme and it is “calling the recharges as ‘Recharge ze Azadi’.” Diving in the details for both the plans, the Rs 1,699 plan offers a data benefit of 2GB data per day with unlimited data access at 80kbps after the usage hits the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit. The plan comes with unlimited voice including local, STD or even roaming calls across the country. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day along with PRBT.
