With rising competition between telcos, new prepaid plans are introduced quite often. State-run telco, BSNL, has been constantly revising its prepaid plans and also launching new ones with better benefits. The recent addition to the list is the Rs 78 STV. BSNL had introduced this ahead of Diwali as a limited period plan, but it is still available for the users. Talking about benefits, the Rs 78 STV offers unlimited local and national calling without any FUP. Unlike other BSNL plans, this plan lets you make unlimited calls to numbers in Mumbai and Delhi circles too. The plan is valid for 10 days, and users also get 2GB 2G/3G data daily, meaning, through the validity period, one can download up to 20GB data. Once the daily data limit of 2GB is hit, users can continue with unlimited downloads, but at a reduced speed of 80Kbps. Users can also avail unlimited video calling option, and to activate the same one needs to send an SMS STV COMBO78 to 123.
The plan will compete with Vodafone, Idea Cellular and Airtel s Rs 65 and Rs 95 prepaid plans. Both these plans offer 28 days validity, but the benefits are different. The Rs 65 plan offers talktime of Rs 55, 200MB data and outgoing calls are charged at 1p per second. The Rs 95 plan, on the other hand, offers a talktime of Rs 95, 500MB data and outgoing calls are charged at 30 paise per minute.
Reliance Jio also has a plan priced at Rs 98, which offers 2GB data, 28 days validity and unlimited local and national calling without any FUP. Users also get complimentary subscription to Jio suite of apps.
