State-run telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has just revamped its FTTH (Fiber To The Home) broadband plans. According to the new changes, the operator has increased the speeds that it is offering under current plans while increasing the data limits on the plans to accommodate the higher speed. The existing plans that have seen modifications include Rs 999, Rs 1,299, Rs 1,699, Rs 1,999, Rs 2,999 and Rs 4,999. All the plans now offer 100Mbps speed except the Rs 999 plan which will now offer the 80Mbps as the download or upload speed.

According to the detailed report by Telecomtalk, the Rs 999 plan will come with 600GB as the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) and once the user crosses the 600GB mark, the speed will be reduced to 2Mbps without any data limits. The offer also provides unlimited voice calls across India, on any network. Moving to the Rs 1,299 plan, it comes with 800GB FPU data at 100Mbps with unlimited calls and reduced 2Mbps speed after FPU limit is crossed. The Rs 1,699 plan now offers 1100GB or 1.4TB FPU data at 100Mbps and the Rs 1,999 plan offers 1.4TB FUP data at 100Mbps.

Both the plans, Rs 1,699 and Rs 1,999 come with the unlimited voice calls benefit. Moving to Rs 2,999 plan, BSNL is giving users 2TB of FUP data at 100Mbps. This plan also gives subscribers one free e-mail ID, and 1GB of storage space for the e-mail ID. The plan will also give users access to one free static IP address.

Moving to the last plan, the Rs 4,999 plan gives users 3.5TB of FUP data at 100Mbps. All these plans come with the usual unlimited voice calls across India to any network. Though, one thing to note here is that all these plans are only applicable and available in the Chennai circle. This revamp is likely a response to Reliance gearing up for its JioGigaFiber service.
