BSNL has revamped two of its existing prepaid plans. According to the changes, the company has revised its Rs 198 and Rs 155 plans to add more value so that users can get more worth of the money that they are paying. These changes are only available for prepaid users in the Tamil Nadu, and Chennai regions which may indicate that BSNL is testing waters with these plans before rolling them out across the country. According to a report by The Mobile Indian, the company now offers 2GB data for 14 days instead of the 1.5GB data previously for the same duration.
In another report by TelcomTalk, BSNL is now offering 1.5GB daily data as part of its Rs 198 plan instead of the 1GB daily data limit. The company has also increased the validity of the plan from previous 24 days up to 28 days in addition to a free “BSNL signature tune” free of cost. Users will have to pay for a caller tune if they have to change to something other than the default signature tune. To get started with both the plans, users can visit the “C-Top-Up” web portal and recharge with STV 198 or STV 155 according to their preference.

Even though the plans look good on the paper but they are still not up to the mark when compared with the plans that its rivals such as Airtel, Reliance Jio, Idea and Vodafone are offering in the market. This could make things difficult for the company as users are likely to go to the company with better overall plans.
These revised plans come right after the company announced a new Rs 19 plan for its prepaid users. As previously reported, the plan will be valid for 54 days from the date of activation while offering outgoing on-net calls to BSNL numbers for 15 paise per minute and off-net calls to other networks at 35 paise per minute.
