State-run telco BSNL is known for being the fiercest rival to Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone in India’s extremely competitive telecom segment. The state-owned telecom operator has been revising and introducing a number of mobile plans to stay competitive against private telecom players. In one such effort, the company has once again revised its Rs 333 prepaid plan, which it calls Triple Ace.

BSNL Revised Rs 333 Prepaid Plan

With the revised Rs 333 prepaid plan, BSNL is now offering 5.2GB data per day, up from 3GB daily data previously offered with this plan. The additional data is a part of “Bumper Offer” promotion where the telco is offering 2.2GB extra data. The company has increased the data speed after exhaustion of daily data limit. Since the plan is unlimited with FUP limit of 5.2GB per day and 234GB during the validity period, the data speed after exhaustion of data cap has been increased from 60kbps to 80kbps.

Other benefits with this plan remain standard with customers getting free local BSNL mobile and landline calls throughout the duration of this plan. Customers also get STD BSNL mobile and landline calls free with this plan. There is also free incoming and outgoing calls during roaming. The roaming benefit is only applicable for BSNL call and tariff is also applicable while roaming on BSNL network. With the updated Rs 333 plan, BSNL is offering a validity of 45 days, which makes it a really competitive tariff plan.

BSNL’s 5.2GB per day pack vs Reliance Jio

Reliance Jio also offers a 5GB per day data benefit but it is more expensive and the validity is also lower. With recharge of Rs 799, Reliance Jio users get data benefits up to 140GB for a period of 28 days. It comes with truly unlimited voice benefits and unlimited SMS of 100 per day. It also gives complementary subscription to Jio Apps.

BSNL’s Rs 333 plan does not offer the best calling benefit since free calls are limited to BSNL’s own network. It also lacks an edge since the data speeds are restricted to 3G or 2G and do not offer 4G benefits like Reliance Jio.
