BSNL is known to launch plans around special occasions, and now it has come up with one just ahead of Diwali. The state-run telco has launched a new Rs 78 prepaid plan, and it is being offered across 20 circles. The new Rs 78 prepaid plan offers quite the bang for its bucks, and essentially replaces the existing plan of the same value, TelecomTalk reports. This new plan is valid for 10 days, which is up from three days on the previous plan. The new prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calling to any network in India, and that too without any FUP limit. The plan is further offering unlimited video calling option, which can be activated by sending STV COMBO78 as an SMS to 123. The report quotes Anupam Shrivastava CMD BSNL as saying that on the Occasion of Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali, STV-78 will suit to all and will enable them to be in touch with their family and friends during the festive season.

As far as data is concerned, the plan offers 2GB per day or 20GB across the validity period. Once the 2GB daily limit is crossed, the speeds are throttled to 80 Kbps.
This is not the only Diwali related announcement BSNL has made in recent times. Towards the end of last month, the telco started offering 8.8 percent extra talktime on select prepaid top-up recharges. As a part of Maha Diwali offer, the company also introduced long-term plans worth Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099 with validity of a year.
