A new browser called Cake has been launched. It’s currently available for Android, and is expected to compete with Chrome and Firefox. According to its developer, it offers a faster and more convenient browsing experience. In fact, it’s been built entirely to ensure a mobile-friendly experience.
Cake browser is heavily focused towards swipe search. When you input a search query, the browser immediately loads the top search result. In addition, it simultaneously loads other search results in the background.
When you swipe to the right, you can easily go through the top results, and pages continue to load as you get there. In case you are unable to find what you’re looking for in the top few results, you could use a regular search results page (your choice of Google or Bing) to the left of the first result page.
Cake allows you to limit your search to specific content types such as images or videos. You can also make your search experience in the future much easier by feeding Cake with your preferred sources via settings.
For instance, if you often search for content on GIPHY, you can move it to the top of the list. Cake also has a built-in ad-blocker and features such as multiple tabs and bookmarks.
The app is free to download for Android users. So give it a try and let us know your experience in the comments below.
