Celkon has launched its new smartphone named the AR 45 under its newly introduced RehmanIshq series, which is dedicated to the Indian music maestro AR Rehman. As the name suggests the company is promoting this smartphone as a music-oriented handset with dual speakers, and has priced it at Rs 7,999.
The Celkon AR 45 will sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with 480X854 pixels resolution. Other specifications include a MediaTek 6572 dual-core chipset ticking at 1.2GHz and is supplemented with 512MB of RAM. There also is a 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. Apart from the display size and resolution, the rest of the aforementioned specifications of the phone are similar to what Samsung is offering on its yet unannounced Galaxy Trend Duos, which is available for Rs 8,490 on popular retail websites. However, while the latter runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the AR 45 comes pre-loaded with the relatively new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The AR 45 also comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. Other features in the phone include dual speakers with K class amplifier, wireless connectivity support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G network and GPS, and support for dual-SIMs.
The phone will be available for Rs 7,999 from October, and will also compete against the recently announced Panasonic T11 which comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM but costs more at Rs 9,790.
