Lenovo didn’t waste any time at CES by announcing a host of devices. It kicked things off with the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon and followed it up with the ThinkPad 8, two new large-screened Miix 2 tablets, a new Y-series and Z-series of notebooks, and finally the Yoga 2 and Flex 14D and Flex 15D. Starting with the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which Lenovo claims is the world’s lightest 14-inch Ultrabook, weighing in at 1.27kg and it is all due to carbon fiber. Talking of hardware, the Ultrabook is powered by fourth-gen Intel Core processors paired with up to 8GB of RAM. Other features include a 14-inch twisted nematic (1,600×900 pixels) display or an optional IPS (2,560×1,440 pixels) display, up to 512GB HDD and up to nine hours of battery life.

Lenovo is also offering an adaptive keyboard with a row of customizable touch function keys at the top that changes according to the program being used. Prices for the ThinkPad X1 Carbon start at $1,299 (Rs 80,700 approximately) and it will hit select markets later this month. There’s no word on when it will come to India though.

THINKPAD 8

Lenovo also unveiled the ThinkPad 8, a tablet powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3770 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Other features include an 8.3-inch (1,900×1,200 pixels) display, 8-megapixel rear camera and the tab runs on Windows 8.1. Lenovo is also offering an optional keyboard case and QuickShot cover with the tablet. The tablet’s prices start at $399 (Rs 24,800 approximately) and again hits select markets later this month.

LENOVO MIIX 2 TABLETS

It also added two more tablets to its Miix 2 range with 10-inch and 11-inch (1,900×1,200 pixels) displays. The former is powered by an Intel quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, while the latter is powered by a fourth-generation Intel i5 core processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Both the variants feature 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, microSD card slot to expand the internal storage, up to 8 hours of battery life and run on Windows 8.1. In terms of pricing and availability, the 10-inch variant is priced at $499 (Rs 31,000 approximately) and will be available in March, while the bigger tablet is priced at $699 (Rs 43,400 approximately) and will be available in April.

LENOVO Y-SERIES AND Z-SERIES NOTEBOOKS

The company took the wraps off two new range of notebooks targeted at performance and multimedia enthusiasts called the Y-series and Z-series. The Lenovo Y50 flaunts a 15.6-inch (1,920×1,080 pixels or 3,840×2,160 pixels) touch and non-touch displays and is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and Nvidia GPU. Other features include up to 1TB hard disk, an optional backlit keyboard and up to four hours of battery life. Prices for the Y-series start at $999 (Rs 62,000 approximately).

The Z-series offers two new laptops — the 14-inch Z40 and the 15.6-inch Z50. Both are powered by Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce GPU, full HD displays, HDMI outputs and Intel’s WiDi wireless display technology. The notebooks are available in multiple colors and prices start at $599 (Rs 37,200 approximately). The notebook goes on sale later this year in March.

LENOVO TABLET/PC HYBRIDS

Lenovo has taken the wraps off the new Yoga 2 hybrid device. The hybrid device can be used as a notebook or as a tablet by folding the display all the way to the bottom. It too is available in 11-inch and 13-inch variants.

The former is powered by Intel premium quad-core processor paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of hard drive space. The display supports a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels, and the battery is claimed to last for up to six hours. Prices for this variant start at $529 (Rs 32,800 approximately) and it will hit the markets later this month.

The bigger 13-inch Yoga 2, on the other hand, is powered by fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 500GB of hybrid drive (mechanical and SSD). The display supports a resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels and the device includes features like up to 11 hours of battery life and prices for the variants start at $999 (Rs 62,100 approximately) and it will hit the markets in March.

Lenovo has also unveiled two other hybrid devices called the Flex 14D and Flex 15D, where the “D” stands for dual-mode. Unlike the Yoga 2 though, the displays on the Flex devices do not bend all the way, and essentially only allow one to use the device with various viewing angles. Both the models feature displays supporting a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels and are powered by quad-core AMD A6 chips and a 1GB AMD Radeon HD8570 GPU.

Other features include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB of internal storage, and prices for the devices start at $499 (Rs 31,100 approximately).
