Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX smartphone in China back in October, which quickly became one of the most innovative launches of 2016. One couldn t get enough of the bezel-less smartphone, and rightly so, as we had not seen this sort of a smartphone before. But at its CES 2017 event, Xiaomi went on to ruin the smartphone by launching it in white. I admit the Mi MIX still looks gorgeous, and the pearl-white finish is quite premium, but the effect of a completely bezel-less display has been ruined. While everything remains the same, on the black variant, the screen kind of melts into the edges, and it seems to cover the whole device, especially when switched off. But looking at the photos of the white Mi MIX, you cannot help but see bezels everywhere. Now there will no doubt be takers for the white variant too, but for me personally, the black variant still stands out. Also Read - Are Chinese brands making the Indian government jittery?

The Xiaomi Mi MIX has been designed by Philippe Starck, and the highlight of the 6.4-inch smartphone is the bezel-less display with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. With the screen covering the top part of the device, the company has opted for advanced receiver-less sound transmission for delivering audio to your ears, and ultrasonic technology for proximity sensor, which is hidden below the display. As for the build, instead of metal, the smartphone boasts a ceramic body.

Xiaomi Mi MIX price, availability
Just like the black variant, the white Mi MIX is also restricted to the Chinese market. Xiaomi hasn t revealed any plans for a launch in other markets like India. Though Xiaomi hasn t revealed a price tag or a launch date for that matter, we expect it to be the same as the black variant. The standard Mi MIX is priced at RMB 3,499 (approximately Rs 34,000), while the Pro variant is priced at RMB 3,999 (approximately Rs 40,000).
