The talking point of the ZTE Blade V8 Pro is the dual-camera setup at the back. This includes a pair of 13-megapixel snappers that will let you click photos with DSLR-like bokeh effects. One camera clicks photos in RGB, while the other clicks photos in monochrome, and stitching them results in sharp images. The camera also supports dual-LED flash, PDAF, and 4K video recording capabilities. For selfie lovers there s an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. ZTE Blade V8 Pro specifications
The Blade V8 Pro flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D curved glass on top and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. There s 32GB onboard storage that can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical button up front, and a 3,140mAh battery with Quick Charge support. ZTE says the battery is good enough for up to 24 hours of talktime, and 552 hours on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
The ZTE Blade V8 Pro has been launched for the US market, and it is priced at $229 (Rs 15,550 approximately). The company also unveiled its crowdsourced Hawkeye smartphone, which can be preordered for $199. The smartphone is expected to go on sale sometime in September.
Last year, ZTE asked users to come with ideas for a smartphone, and the Hawkeye is the winning concept. The talking points of this smartphone include eye-tracking sensor and self-adhesive back. The first feature basically includes an iris scanner up front, which tracks eye movements to scroll up, down, left and right. The other feature is pretty self explanatory, and ZTE says quite a few asked for a way to stick their devices on various surfaces. There is however no word on what surfaces are supported by Hawkeye s self-adhesive back.
