The spotlight is on India when it comes to smartphone companies. The tech giants are scurrying in to launch their handsets, tapping into the wide and diverse population that is at the brink of experiencing the smartphone revolution. The latest to enter is another Chinese company Nubia. The ZTE-backed company is looking to launch its flagship Z9 in India tomorrow, which will exclusively retail on Amazon India. The Nubia Z9 was unveiled on May 6 in China and is now set to enter Indian markets tomorrow. It has already been listed on Amazon India, and the media invites have been sent for tomorrow. Needless to say, the smartphone will be aggressively priced to compete with other Chinese and local rivals, As far as the specifications are concerned, the Nubia Z9 sports a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 64-bit capable Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset with Adreno 430 GPU. There are two variants of the Nubia Z9, one is the 32GB variant which comes with 3GB RAM, and 64GB variant which comes with 4GB RAM.
On the photography front, the Nubia Z9 sports a 16-megapixel rear Sony sensor with optical image stabilization, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, it sports a 8-megapixel front shooter with 80-degree wide viewing lens. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nubia 3.0 UI on top of it,and packs a 2,900mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it offers Wi-Fi, dual-SIM support, LTE connectivity, and Bluetooth.
The 32GB variant is called Classic and is priced at $564(approximately Rs 35,800). Alternatively, the 64GB variant is called Elite and is priced at $645 (approximately Rs 40,900). There is also another Exclusive version with additional fingerprint sensor which is priced at $725 (approximately Rs 46,000).
Nubia Z9 will compete with other Chinese rivals like Xiaomi and OnePlus, and will also stifle Meizu’s launch, as it enters the India market today with the M1 Note Pro.
