Laser shooting rifles are common weapons in sci-fi movies, but now a Chinese firm actually wants to make them a reality. The ZKZM-500 is said to weigh as much the AK-47 at 3 kilos, and is powered by a lithium battery that the company claims can fire more than 1,000 laser shots that can last up to 2 seconds each. While the laser is described by the company as non-lethal, a researcher from the company was quoted by the South China Morning Post saying that it can cause pain beyond endurance. It can burn through skin and also ignite flammable objects instantly. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy A22 5G India launch nearing as support page goes live
Because the laser is invisible and does not make any sound, the ZKZM-500 s best case scenario is touted to be hostage situations, and other covert operations. It would be impossible for the target to understand what s happening before feeling the excruciating amount of pain from the laser beam.
