Yesterday when Google released a version of its Chrome web browser for Android one of the notable omissions from the browser was Adobe Flash support. Adobe has reiterated this fact that it is not going to release a version of Flash for Chrome on Android, and will instead work with Google on advancing HTML5 and CSS technologies for mobile devices. Previously Adobe had announced that it would stop development of Flash for mobile devices. For long Flash support was touted as a key feature by iPad and iPhone competitors but due to stability and battery life issues Apple always avoided use of the technology for its mobile devices. Eventually with the low penetration of non-iPad tablets and poor performance of Flash on Android smartphones Adobe gave up development of Flash for mobile devices.
