Computex 2017: Asus launches world's thinnest convertible ZenBook Flip S, new ZenBook laptops, and more

Here's a roundup of all that Asus announced at Computex 2017 today.

Asus ZenBook Flip S

Computex 2017 kicked off in Taipei today with Asus stealing the thunder by launching a slew of laptops, ultrabooks, and convertibles. Asus’ latest laptop line-up includes support for a range of Windows 10 features — including Windows Ink, Windows Hello, Cortana and Modern Standby. The new products introduced include the Zenbook Flip S, Zenbook 3 Deluxe, Zenbook Pro, VivoBook S, and VivoBook Pro. Prices of the newest devices start at $499 (Rs 32,200 approximately), and go all the way up to $1,299 (Rs 83,800 approximately).

Asus ZenBook Flip S specifications, features

Called as the world’s thinnest convertible laptop, the Asus ZenBook Flip S measures just 10.9mm and weighs only 1.1kg. Winner of the Computex 2017 d&i Award, the 2-in-1 features a dual-action ErgoLift hinge which allows the display to be flipped 360-degree.

The ZenBook Flip S is a Windows 10 device and is powered by up to a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor with 1TB SSD. Keeping the device from heating up is a new cooling system that features a liquid-crystal-polymer fan impeller which is just 0.3mm thin. It is further claimed to offer 11.5 hours of battery life, and comes with fast charge support that can take the power from zero to 60 percent in 49 minutes.

Prices of the ZenBook Flip S begin from $1,099 (approximately Rs 71,000).

Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe specifications, features

Claimed as the world’s thinnest 14-inch laptop, the Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe measures 12.9mm and weighs just 1.1kg. It features a full HD display with 84 percent screen-to-body ratio and is powered by Intel’s i5/i7 U-series processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD.

Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe

The laptop features a backlit keyboard with glass-cover touch pad. For connectivity, the laptop features two USB Type-C ports that are Thunderbolt 3-enables which allow support for 40Gbps data transfers, and dual 4K UHD external display. The Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe is available at a starting price of $1,199 (approximately Rs 77,500).

Asus ZenBook Pro specifications, features

The ZenBook Pro is claimed to be the thinnest, lightest and most powerful ZenBook Pro device ever. It measures 18.9mm thin and is 1.8 kg light. It is equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K UHD display and is powered by Intel’s 7th Generation Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Ti graphics, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB PCIe x4 SSD.

Asus claims the battery is capable of delivering backup of up to 14 hours, which essentially makes it surpass that of Microsoft’s new Surface Pro (2017) at 13.5 hours. For audio, the laptop featuers Harman Kardon certified quad speakers.

Asus ZenBook Pro

Asus VivoBook Pro specifications, features

Asus’ answer to the MacBook Pro, the VivoBook Pro 15 features a 15.6-inch 4K UHD display with wide-view technology. It is powered by Intel’s 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and gaming-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. It features hybrid storage and can house up to a 2TB HDD and a 512GB SSD. There is a dual-fan cooling system to keep the device cool during graphic-intensive sessions.

Asus VivoBook Pro

The laptop runs on Windows 10 and features a fingerprint sensor for a seamless Windows Hello authentication. There is also support for the Asus Pen. For audio, the Asus VivoBook Pro features Harman Kardon certified twin speakers. Prices for the Asus VivoBook Pro start from $799 (approximately Rs 51,600).

Asus VivoBook S specifications, features

An affordable variant of the VivoBook Pro, the VivoBook S features a 15.6-inch display and is powered by Intel’s 7th Generation Core i7-7500U processor with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD+2TB SSD.

Designed for those who work on-the-go, the VivoBook S boasts a 17.9mm slim profile and weighs only 1.5kg.  Optional features include backlit keyboard and one-touch login with Windows Hello support. ALSO READ: Asus ZenFone AR hands-on and first impressions

Asus VivoBook S

Prices for the Asus VivoBook S begin from $499 (approximately Rs 32,300).

In addition to the new range of laptops, Asus also showcased its antenna-less smart Wi-Fi router called Blue Cave, world’s first Tango-enabled Daydream-ready Zenfone AR smartphone, 27-inch Designo MZ27AQ frameless monitor; and the Vivo AiO V241 and Zen AiO ZN242 all-in-one PCs, which feature 7th Generation Intel Core processors, Intel Optane memory, and thin-bezel NanoEdge displays.
