“Connect Safe” will provide multi-device security to our existing and prospective users in Punjab. Connect Safe has been designed to respond to all the security needs of multi- device users, in line with the growing usage on smart devices and the increasing threats of viruses, malware and spamware,” Arvind Bali, Director and CEO, Connect Broadband and Videocon Telecom, said here today. Connect Safe provides protection for safe shopping and banking experience, privacy protection, tracking for lost devices and content device security. It also blocks hackers to maintain privacy of data, safeguards the Internet for children – on PCs, tablets and android phones thereby reducing service interruptions and security hassles, he said. The company has tied up with a Finland-based F-Secure Corporation for offering this security system. Paul Palmer, VP APAC, Customer and Market Operations at F-Secure Corporation said, ‘Connect Safe’ offers peace of mind by helping customers to connect to the Internet with confidence, wherever they may be, they can avoid digital threats on PCs, smartphones and tablets. Connect Broadband is a Unified Access Services Licensee in Punjab Telecom Circle, which consists of Punjab, the Union Territory of Chandigarh and Panchkula. The company provides telecommunication services, which includes voice telephony, both wireline and fixed wireless, Internet services, broadband data services and a range of value added service. The company said the strategic tie-up with F-Secure Corporation will not only ensure security to its subscribers but will also help in expanding its customer base in Punjab telecom circle comprising Punjab, Chandigarh and Panchkula.
“With strategic tie up in place we expect to add 40,000-45,000 new subscribers in the current year compared to 30,000 subscribers added last year,”said Bali. The company has around 2 lakh subscribers in Punjab.
