After a series of leaks, LeEco Coolpad’s next ‘Cool’ smartphone has been launched in China. Dubbed, the Coolpad Cool S1, is the company’s latest flagship boasting a metal body and a rear fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is available in storage variants with 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage priced at 2,499 Yuan (Rs 24,350 approximately), 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage at 2,699 Yuan (Rs 26,300 approximately), and 6GB of RAM + 128GB storage priced at 3,199 Yuan (Rs 31,200 approximately). The Cool S1, which is the third handset to arrive from the partnership between LeEco and Coolpad after the Cool 1 Dual and the Cool 1C, boasts a metal body and features a 5.5-inch full HD display. Under the hood is Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. As mentioned earlier, there are RAM and storage choices of 4GB/6GB of RAM coupled with 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone doesn’t offer further storage expansion. For smartphone photography lovers, the Coolpad Cool S1 boasts Sony’s IMX298 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, EIS, BSI, and 4K recording at 30 FPS. This is further enhanced with a dual-LED flash. Up front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel camera for selfies.
Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 4,070mAh battery which comes with support for Quick Charge 3.0. At the software front, the Coolpad Cool S1 is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LeEco’s eUI5.8 layered on top. Connectivity options include 4G, WiFi, dual SIM support, Bluetooth, OTG, and Type-C support. The smartphone further adds to the list of handsets which have ditched the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The Coolpad Cool S1 comes with support for USB Type-C headset.

The Moto Z Play sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB storage onboard, which can be expanded using a microSD card. For photography, the Moto Z Play sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording capabilities. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features of the smartphone include fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C port. It comes with a 3,510mAh battery along with turbo charging support. It is priced at Rs 24,999.
The Asus Zenfone 3, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 21,199. It comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display with 2.5D glass. Under the hood is a 64-bit Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. For selfies, it comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, and 88 degrees wide-angle lens. It comes with USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone houses a 2,600mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct and GPS.
