Bangalore-based startup, CREO, launched the Mark 1 smartphone last week. Priced at Rs 19,999, the smartphone’s USP is the software. It runs on a customized OS based on Android called Fuel, and the company has also promised monthly updates, which also introduces one big new feature. For those interested, the CREO Mark 1 has now gone on sale on Flipkart. The Mark 1 went on sale via Flipkart last night with a price tag of Rs 19,999. The e-commerce site is also offering cash on delivery as well as EMI options from Rs 970 onwards. The new Mark 1 smartphone is also available on CREO’s own website. One added advantage of buying the smartphone from the CREO website is the option to personalize the smartphone with an engraving. CREO Mark 1 specifications, features: The smartphone features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 1440 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.95GHz Mediatek Helio X10 true octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It also offers 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The Mark 1 also features a 21-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and 4K video recording capabilities, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,100mAh battery with Fast Charging support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
On the software front, the Mark 1 runs on Android-based Fuel OS. The customized OS comes with proprietary features like Sense, Echo and Retriever among others. Sense is basically a search feature that lets users look for anything on the phone by double-tapping the home button. Echo is an answering machine with a twist, and it can either respond to calls with a SMS or play your recorded voice before accepting a voice message from the caller. Retriever, on the other hand, works in the same way as Apple s Find My iPhone feature.
CREO has also promised that the next software update is coming on May 13. This upcoming update will bring with it new features like Photo Editor, Selfie Screen Flash, Automatic BKG Data Manager, Auto & Customizable Echo and Sense 2.0.
