Apple’s design guru Jony Ive’s profile has been removed from the list of executives on the company’s website. The move is typically associated with the departure of any senior executive from the company. However, Apple has not issued any statement reflecting the same, which it would have considering the importance of Ive inside Apple.
The removal of Ive’s profile is fuelling worries whether the industrial designer, who received knighthood for his services to design and enterprise, has left the company. Ive has been described as the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs’, creative soulmate.
However, it is very likely that Ive, who is known by his nickname Jony, has moved on to Apple’s special projects team, which is understood to be developing Apple’s next wave of innovations in new product segments. The same happened with Bob Mansfield, Apple’s senior vice president of technologies, who was removed from the executive team and moved to the special projects division. Earlier, Apple had also hired Yves Saint Laurent CEO, Paul Deneve as vice president of the special projects group.
UPDATE: Phew! Jony’s profile is back on the page.
