Polyphony’s popular Playstation title Gran Tursimo needs no introduction but neither does its creator Kazunori Yamauchi. A race car driver himself, Yamauchi has not just given us a game, he has shaped racers’ careers with the help of Gran Tursimo. Directed by short-film guru Tamir Moscovici and shot by Avatar’s cinematographer Anthony Arendt, the upcoming documentary “KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide” promises to show how Yamauchi shaped his dream into the hugely successful racing simulator we are great fans of. Gran Turismo’s sixth installment was released a few days back and while that continues to interest gamers out there, this documentary, named after GT’s creator, will be released on Hulu today. Filmed in a total of 12 locations, “Kaz: Pushing the Virtual Divide” includes interviews of racers, gamers, engineers, coders, designers and the creator himself. Hulu is sadly not available in India at the moment, so we’ll have to wait until the documentary makes its way to one of the other platforms like Youtube, Vimeo or Reelhouse.
