Lately we’re seeing a lot of OEMs focus on the audio quality of their smartphones. Samsung seems to be one of them. Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ were one of the brand’s first smartphones to feature stereo speakers. But more than that, the company also equipped the smartphones with Dolby Atmos. This feature is said to make a substantial difference in the audio output, be it music, movies or games you’re playing on the smartphone.

Samsung doesn’t just plan on keeping the feature limited to its flagship smartphones. The company announced recently that the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ will also be equipped with Dolby Atmos. Not just that, Samsung is also bringing this feature to the Galaxy Tab S3, with the new Oreo update rolling out today.

That makes a total of five Samsung devices that carry support for Dolby Atmos. Most of the devices still fall under the premium category, but we’re hoping Samsung will bring the feature to its other smartphones as well. This could also encourage other OEMs to do the same. Of course, phones with a mono speaker will not be able to take full advantage of the Dolby Atmos support. However, with earphones, the audio experience can be a lot better.

If you are currently using a Galaxy S9, Galaxy A6, or a Galaxy Tab S3 running Android Oreo OS, you can enable and customize Dolby Atmos from the “Sound and vibration” settings on the device. In that menu, go to “Sound quality and effects”.
