Google seems to have been working on making the Android app search more intuitive and attractive. In an effort to boost discoverability and user engagement, Google has started rolling out an attractive and colorful results layout when you search for apps on your Android phone. The colors are in line with the Material Design scheme, something that Google has been pushing out for its mobile. For the new layout to display in search results, open any internet browser on your Android phone and enter a query followed by the word apps. For instance, you can type “camera apps, music apps, movie apps, cooking apps, to-do list apps” and so on. Also Read - Google might be working on a 'Find My' network clone for Android users
The search results are pretty quick and they display app information as well. These apps appear on flat cards in three column grid, whereas their color matches to that of the app icon. Based on Play Store reviews, the search result layout also shows star ratings and number of downloads. There is also a dropdown button below the results, tapping on which it shows more apps matching your search results. The new interface for Google app search is only for search queries on Android devices. Typing the same on an Apple device or on a PC browser does not return the same results.
