The entire world might drools over Victoria Secret’s Angels, the crowd at the Valley is a bit different. The Silicon Valley Fashion Week had clothes being flaunted on the runway by none other than beautiful little drone models!
The drones were supplied by a San Francisco-based collective called Game of Drones. The tech fashion week saw bling at its modern best, with hoodie-clad men flying their drones on the runway and back to the dressing room in oodles of swag. The Silicon Valley Fashion Week is a three-day ongoing affair that kicked off on Tuesday, and will see a mix of tech and glamour in it.
Chris Lindland, the founder of the Silicon Valley Fashion Week and CEO of Betabrand, a company that crowd-sources its designs from people, loved the idea of drones on the runway. He told Mashable, “Drones are lovely. Drone-flown clothing flutters beautifully in the prop wash and floats down the runway like a ghost.”
These drones on the runway are another addition of the many use-cases of the little flying gadget. Drones were recently also deployed in Nepal to capture footage post the earthquake, and get a real sense of the extent of damage.
As for drones on the runway, we still root for Amanda Murphy!
